2025 Natasha International Fingerstyle Competition
Welcome to the Finals!
Congratulations to all 12 amazing players who made it to the finals!
A Natasha JC7 will be sent to those placed 1st to 6th, and a JC4 will be sent to those placed 7th to 12th. Accessory prizes will be sent alongside the guitars.

We are still hosting the finals online this year, despite survey results showing overwhelming support for in-person finals; we will try our best to get it next year!

Competition Ruleset
Submission Ruleset
This round will determine the placement of the 12 finalists.
- All contestants must record TWO pieces in one video without halt; re-tuning and effects changing included in the video. One of the two pieces MUST be an original song.
- Both pieces in the video must be played with a Natasha Guitar.
- Must be filmed in one take with no cuts, guitar and face shown; video and audio must be recorded at the same time (different software is fine).
- Must display a separate Natasha Competition Entry Sheet on paper or mobile device before each performance. This cannot be edited in at the beginning.
- All effects are allowed except for the following: multi-tracking, looping, MIDI controllers, self made orchestration.
- Each song must be over two minutes in length.
- Videos can be titled however you like, but you must include the website https://natashaguitar.com/ and #natashacompetition2025 somewhere in the description. Videos must be publicly posted to YouTube.
- You will get a confirmation from bob@natashaguitar.com if your submission has been validated.

Timeline of Events

Preliminary Round: March 10th – April 20th
Results will be announced by April 25th, with 50 participants advancing to the second round. -
Semifinals: April 25th – May 31st
Results will be announced by June 5th, with 12 participants advancing to the final round. -
Final Round: June 10th – September 15th
Results will be announced by September 25th.
Judging Criteria
- Performance: Fluency, articulation, rhythm, dynamics, and note clarity
- Accuracy (for covers only): Attention to detail, tone, and groove
- Creativity (for arrangements and originals only): Originality, completeness, and uniqueness
- Complexity: Difficulty, depth, and cohesiveness
Note: Original compositions typically carry the most weight in grading, followed by arrangements and then covers. However, covers can still be competitive—while the difference is slight, it could be the deciding factor between two excellent submissions.
Submission Notes
- Please follow the submission guidelines, your submission will be invalidated upon failure to do so.
- Participating on behalf of someone would result in immediate disqualification.
- All submissions will be graded with complete fairness and results published. Send us an email if you want to appeal your results.
